Gary Redman played guitar and sang a country tune for first place in the adult category of the Talent Show held Saturday afternoon at the county fair in Superior.

This year, seven acts stepped up to the mic at the Mineral County Fair’s Talent Show on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 4. Judging was for two categories of “adult” and “juvenile,” and before the competition began, members from the 4-H Camo Critters opened the show with an explanation of their project raising butterflies from caterpillars.

IN THE adult category, Gary Redman, 62, won first place playing his guitar and singing a country tune. Mike Collier received second place for his country song, and Sara Rasmussen, 25, won third place for her song.

Bailey Milender received first place in the juvenile category for her song while Adrienne Simmert and her young daughter received honorable mention, along with Karrah Picken and Heather Beerman.

ALL THE acts were vocals with some playing guitar. The event was ended with Fred Fike treating the audience to some of his non-competition yodeling.

Winners received a prize of $50 for first place, $25 for second and $15 for third.
