The 39th Annual Huckleberry Festival in Trout Creek last weekend was a hit for locals and tourists as the tiny Sanders County town once again celebrated.

This year’s Huckleberry Festival looked considerably larger as plenty of people lined the street for the annual parade before hitting the festival in the park.

Local motels and RV parks were said to be filled to the brim as people took the weekend to enjoy all things associated with the famous berry in Trout Creek.

The parade once again saw plenty of locals and out-of-towners take part, including the returning Albeni Falls Pipes and Drums of Sandpoint, Idaho.

Vendors for the festival also filled up the park with more stalls this year — displaying homemade creations as the revelers were making sure they stopped in each tent to check it all out.

This year’s Huckleberry Festival Grand Marshals were Pat and Lloyd Austin, who waved to the crowds as they traveled behind the VFW veterans, who led the parade down Highway 200 to kick off the Saturday highlight in style.

As the town overflowed with festival-goers throughout the weekend, the 2018 Huckleberry Festival was certainly the place to be last weekend in Sanders County.
