Savage Horsemen win 12 of 15 matches at the Arlee Mixer
Twelve wins in 15 wrestling matches is a good percentage, at any level.
The Plains/Hot Springs recorded that mark at the Arlee Mixer last Friday. Also in attendance were grapplers from Clark Fork and Bigfork.
Conrad Vanderwall wrestled three matches, winning all of them. Peter Carey and Josiah Vanderwall were both 2-0 on the evening. The Savage Horsemen won by fall in all eight of those matches. Taylor Angle wrestled once, and won that match.
“Everybody on the team won a match,” Plains/Hot Springs head coach Jeff Kujala said, and he indicated that Carey and the Vanderwall brothers were the standouts with their efforts.
Kujala spoke about where the Savage Horsemen are in terms of conditioning.
“Everything seemed to go good that way,” the coach said. “I was pleased with the performance Friday night.”
Plains/Hot Springs finishes pre-holiday competition with a flourish. The Savage Horsemen compete in the Eureka Mixer on Friday, and the Eureka Invitational on Saturday.
