In each of the last three years, Thompson Falls Athletics has offered an opportunity for all K-12 student-athletes to continue to build his or her basketball skills by offering the 10,000 Shot Club.

During the Dec. 20 basketball action between Thompson Falls and Plains, five T-Falls student-athletes were honored as members of the elite 10,000 Shot Club. They are TFHS sophomores Megan Baxter and Faith Frields, Plains eighth-grader Ellie Baxter, and seventh-graders Cael Thilmony and Braxton Dorscher.

Megan and sister Ellie Baxter, and Thilmony were recognized for being part of the club for the third year. It is the second year in the club for Frields and Dorschler.

Off-season work takes dedication and a passion for excellence. In order to be recognized as a member of the 10,000 Shot Club, athletes must take GAME shots, from GAME SPOTS at GAME SPEEDS, with at least 10,000 attempts during the months of June, July and August.

Megan Baxter led the way for the five 10,000 Shot Club repeat members. She took 30,000 shots during the summer of 2018, and 60,000 shots during the three-year span.

Ellie Baxter took 22,500 shots this summer, and more than 47,000 over three years.

Thilmony took 10,000 shots in 2018, and more than 30,000 for the three-year period.

Frields was credited with 11,395 shots this summer, and at total of more than 21,000.

Dorscher took 10,000 shots each of the last two summers.

The quintet of dedicated free-throw shooters each received a commemorative T-shirt donated by the Thompson Falls boys’ and girls’ basketball programs, and a new Bader basketball provided by a private donor.
