Kids get into Geography Bee at Hot Springs

Hot Springs Schools recently crowned its Geography Bee winner.

The competition was focused on U.S. geography. Hot Springs teacher Andrew Liechtnam was the emcee which showcased all the classroom winners.

From fourth to eighth grade, two classroom champions from each battled it out in the multipurpose room in front of classmates and teachers.

Students had to answer both verbal and written answers as they progressed through the rounds.

It would come down to the third place decider that saw five tie-breakers to be able to crown a third-place champion.

Odin Max, the fourth-grade classroom champion, took third place.

The champion and reserve champion was decided off a three question basis. It was between Josie Uski the seventh-grade classroom champion and Austin Campbell also a seventh-grade classroom champion.

Josie would become victorious taking the top title for the competition.

Josie will next represent Hot Springs School at the next level which is an online test. If they score well enough then they go to state in Billings. From there a winner goes to the National Bee.

Josie took the online test last Wednesday and is eagerly awaiting on results
