Bobbi Rose Mathes, 81

Bobbi Rose Mathes, 81, passed away of natural causes on Dec. 5, 2017, at Mineral Community Nursing Home in Superior.

Bobbi was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, on Feb. 3, 1936, to Wallace Van Hoose and Blanche Fraley. Bobbi moved a lot and has resided in West Virginia, Oregon, Texas, California and Montana, which she loved the best. Life was hard for Bobbi but she grew up to be a refined and dignified lady, loving opera, classical and gospel music. Bobbi was able to travel to England in 1987 and enjoyed exploring everywhere she visited or lived. She held many jobs in her life including working at turkey farms; she was a licensed foster parent and ran a shelter home in Madras, Oregon.

Bobbi loved having company and cooking for her guests. She was active in her church; she enjoyed sewing, her Smurf collection, ceramic ducks, reading, gardening and had an extensive cookbook collection.

Bobbi was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Wanda. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Ron Mathes; sons Jim Duvall, Oliver Duvall, and Robert Duvall III; stepchildren Rhonda, Adam, Richard, Debbie and Lisa Mathes; sister Linda; seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

A private family graveside will be held at Superior Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Superior Assembly of God, located at 502 Second Ave. E., Superior, Montana, with Pastor Rick Lewis officiating.
