The Plains Horsemen looked to have hit a good stride after the holiday season when they matched up against the St. Regis Tigers on a home court last week.

The boys varsity side took to the courts in front of a near packed gymnasium, and from tip off the boys worked as one team not so much as individuals as seen in the past.

Some of the biggest changes that were noted, were how the boys continued to look for prime opportunities in passing and reading their ‘team mates’ to anticipate where a prime position for shooting would be.

After a week of ‘down time’ due to the Christmas break, it would seem that it was a different team on the courts.

The Horsemen were a stark contrast to that seen before the break. Seniors on the team looked to lead the way for the younger players as they had quicker change overs using strengths where needed.

Coach Mike Cole could be seen to be inspiring players to give more than what they thought they had from the side lines.

The Plains High School team seemed to have brought it together for the home game to set strong goals as the season gets back into full swing.

Both the Plains Horsemen and Trotters Varsity sides came away with strong wins on the home court.

Now it will beg to see if the domination grit and finesse will continue with more games ahead.
