It was a bumper week for basketball as the Plains Horsemen and Trotters hit the road to Arlee then back in their home corral to head up against the Hawks.
At the start of the week Plains was sitting second for both the boys and girls varsity teams, both behind Arlee.
However, after this past week’s games, there could be some change ups for the conference standings.
Unfortunately for the Horsemen they went down once again to the Arlee Warriors, this time in the Warriors’ den.
Final score seeing Arlee 80 to Plains 39.
Horsemen baskets saw: Tanner Ovitt 2, Kyle Weeks 6, Theydon Brouillette 6, Matt McCracken 4, Sinjin Ladeaux 5, Jay Vonheeder 12 and Derrick Curry with 4.
The Trotters did slightly better as the final score saw Plains 45 to Arlee 39. The Trotters definitely sought redemption from the last match up in Plains where they fell to the Lady Warriors.
Trotter baskets saw: Kassidy Kinzie 9, Lindsay Laws 14, Haley Josephson 4, Analisa Loberg 2, Natalee Deschamps 2, Rachel Huenik 4, Kara Altmiller 4 and Jessica Thompson with 6.
The Trotters came away with a loss on their home court this past Saturday night. Though they were able to catch up thanks to Lindsay Laws three-point shooting along with Hayley Josephson’s quick feet, they weren’t enough before the final buzzer ran out.
The Horsemen also headed up against a strong Seeley-Swan Hawks side. From the tip off the game struck into full intensity.
Both sides showed to have a push for quick baskets yet the home side was able to take a quick lead. From there onward it was a close match to see who would continue to sink baskets.
The Hawks took opportunities to gain from a couple of three point shots. Also looking to take advantage of any openings the home side gave up to allow an easy approach to the basket.
However, it was the Plains Horsemen who took the win 58-49 by the final buzzer.

Hot Springs Savage Heat boys varsity also had a rough start to the week, going down to Valley Christen on their home court. The away side took the game 43-33.
Savage Heat baskets saw: Tyler Carr 11, Brandon Knudsen 20, and Luke Waterbury 2.
Noxon Devils headed up against Charlo on the home court, but couldn’t grab the win, falling with a final score of Charlo 59- Noxon 49.
Devil baskets saw: Logan Wood 10, Owen Fisher 3, Ethan Hinrichsen 9, Braedon Marshall 2, Rylan Weltz 7, Alex Currie 11, Levi Brubaker 7.
Thompson Falls Blue Hawks couldn’t hold off the visitors from Anaconda as they fell to a final score of 80-75.
Blue Hawk baskets saw: Danny Hoisington 36, Payton Frields 16, Nathan Thibeault 16, Dylan Beckman 3, Grant Lundberg 3, Jacob Long 1.
The Lady Hawks took to the home courts to match up against Anaconda, but fell to the visitors as final score saw Anaconda 89- Thompson Falls 68.
Lady Hawk scoring: Megan Baxter 25, Jody Detlaff 16, Maya Stiles 13, Haley Morgan 8, Faith Frields 4, Riley Wilson 2.
Noxon Lady Devils saw the same fate as the boys falling to a visiting Charlo with a final score of Charlo 49-Noxon 31.

Hot Springs Lady Savage Heat took a win from the visiting Valley Christian with a final score of Hot Springs 41- Valley Christian 19.
Hot Springs dominated the score board from early on scoring eight baskets to four in the first period. By the second and third, the Lady Savage Heat looked to settle int their home court domination as the second period ended 11-2, third period 13-8 and the final period 9-5.
