Fourth of July was a 'blast' in St. Regis

Horses, balloons and a lot of red, white and blue were featured during the Fourth of July parade in St. Regis.

Fourth of July festivities were in full swing — thanks to the support of the St. Regis Community Council. Events started with a free pancake breakfast at the St. Regis School cafeteria Wednesday morning. It was followed by a parade at 11 a.m. Grand Marshal Rick Jasper led a caravan of horses, ATVs, bikes and various other floats down Old Highway 10. Mineral County sheriff and deputies directed traffic at the intersection as vehicles turned off Interstate 90 to find themselves in the middle of it all.

St. Regis Fire Chief Jerry Dockter and volunteer Kat Kitteridge made their way down the route — handing out red and blue balloons to the crowds while soliciting donations for the fireworks display held at dusk in the town park. After the parade people, headed over the community park to continue the celebration with food and games for the entire family.
