Red Devils, Lady Red Devils have multiple top-five finishes

Noxon High School competitor Levi Brubaker has consistently found himself in the top five in multiple track categories and at the Class 14-C Western District, he continued his trend of success.

Brubaker had two first-place finishes placing first in the long jump and triple jump of the Western 14-C Districts.

Brubaker recorded a personal record with a jump of 20 feet, 0.75 inches in the long jump and also PRed in the triple jump leaping to a distance of 42 feet, 9.5 inches.

Brubaker was also a member of a 4X100 relay team and a 4X400 relay team that both finished in the top five at Districts. Brubaker, along with Cody Cable, Aiden Galloway, and Edison VanVleet, finished third in the 4X100 with a time of 48.91 seconds and second in the 4X400 with a time of 3 minutes, 52.79 seconds. The 4X400 relay team consisted of Cable, Jared Webley VanVleet, and Brubaker.

Red Devil Cody Cable had three top-three finishes in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash.

Cable finished first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.09 seconds, second in the 200-meter dash recording a personal record with a time of 24.77 seconds and fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.28 seconds. Cable was also a member of the 4X100 and 4X400 relay teams that placed in the top five.

Noxon teammates Edison VanVleet and Jared Webley finished in the top five in the 800-meter run. VanVleet placed third with a personal record time of 2 minutes, 17.02 seconds and Alex Currie recorded a personal record with a time of 2 minutes, 19.95 seconds finishing fourth. Webley also captured fifth with a time of 2 minutes, 22.24 seconds.

Currie showcased his versatility and ability to perform as a distance runner. Currie placed fifth in the 1,600-meter run recording a personal record with a time of 5 minutes, 20.39 seconds and placed second in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 11 minutes, 31.36 seconds, another personal record.

VanVleet had two top-five finishes in the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles. VanVleet finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 18.65 seconds and fifth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 48.44 seconds.

Rylan Weltz, a Red Devil thrower, finished first in discus recording a throw of 118 feet, 2.50 inches. His teammates Aaron Raynor and Avery Vogel also had two top-five finishes. Rayner recorded a throw of 101 feet, 00.75 inches finishing third and Vogel set a personal record with a throw of 89 feet, 4.50 inches to finish in fifth.

Weltz also finished first in the shot put with a throw of 40 feet. Raynor finished second behind Weltz with a throw of 37 feet, 8 inches and Alex Currie placed third recording a throw of 35 feet, 3 inches.

Raynor also finished first in the jav recording a distance and setting a personal record of 130 feet, 9.50 inches and Weltz finished third in the jav with a distance of 128 feet, 8.50 inches.

Lady Red Devils shine at Districts

The Noxon Lady Devils’ thrower Delaney Weltz has become well known for her top-five finishes this season and at the Western 14-C Districts she made no exception.

Weltz placed first at discus with a throw of 97 feet, 7.75 inches, second at javelin with at throw of 103 feet, 4.5 inches and recorded a personal record placing second in shot put with a throw of 32 feet, 8.5 inches.

Weltz was also a member of two top-five relay teams who finished third in the 4X100 on a team that consisted of Kristina Brown, Alivia Hill and Kali Murray. The team recorded a time of 58.50 and finished third in the 4X400 with a time of 4 minutes, 43.15 seconds.

Lady Red Devil teammates Alivia Hill and Kristina Brown showcased their speed in the recent track events.

Hill recorded a time of 14.52 seconds, finishing third in the 100-meter dash and finished third in the 200-meter dash with a personal record of 30.14 seconds. Teammate Kali Murray placed fifth with a time of 31.24 seconds in the 200-meter dash.

Phalyn Fickas finished third in the 1,600-meter and second in the 3,200-meter run. In the 1,600 Fickas recorded a time of 6 minutes, 40.66 and a second-place time of 14 minutes, 44.04 seconds in the 3,200-meter run.

Noxon runner Kali Murray also turned in a top-five finish. Murray finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 56.56 seconds.
