The US Forest Service will hold its annual Kids Fishing Day at the Savenac Historic Tree Nursery located at Haugan on June 16. Starting at 9 a.m., with hot dogs provided by the Friends of Savenac and fishing pole and tackle available.

Annual St. Regis townwide yard sale

Get a map with directions and descriptions of what people are selling at the St Regis Community Center on Friday or Saturday, June 15 or 16.

Yard Sale/Cowboy Breakfast – DeBORGIA

The Happy Homemakers (the DeBorgia Schoolhouse Foundation) invite you to the largest yard sale in the west end of Mineral County Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Bring an appetite for their Cowboy Breakfast, too. Reservations not required.

Summer Program at the Park starting

The Summer Program at the Park is for all children and starts on June 14 at 12:30 pm in the Eva Horning Park in Superior. The theme this year is “Libraries Rock”, and will be featuring various kinds of music. There is no registration and the programs begin after the free lunch at the park. There will be, as usual, a reading program for children of all ages at the library, beginning on the same day. Patrons are to come in to the library for their folders with instructions.

Kickball tourney and pig roast

A Kickball Tournament Fundraiser will be held at the Hank Roat Memorial Park in Alberton starting at 8 a.m. on June 16. Hosted by the PEAK Foundation and the Alberton Railroad Days Foundation. There will also be a Pig Roast Extravaganza at 2:30 in the park following the tournament.

Author visit

Author Christine Carbo will visit Mineral County Library on June 16 from noon to 2 pm with her new book “A Sharp Solitude” in Superior

Frenchtown Pond holding live raptors event on June 16

Basket Bingo to be held June 16

Basket Bingo will be held on June 16 starting at 5 pm to raise funds for the Mineral County Hospital Relay for Life Team in the elementary all purpose room in Superior with refreshments provied.

Montana Mass Timber Conference

The third annual Montana Mass Timber Conference is scheduled for Thursday, June 21, in Columbia Falls. Highlights for this year’s event include a tour of Smartlam LLC’s CLT processing facility, Woodworks, and a panel of Montana professionals with hands-on CLT experience. Story time

—The St Regis Community Library is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Story Hour and Projects from 5 pm to 6 pm. Saturday’s, the library is open from 10 am until 1 pm. The library is located inside the St Regis School.

—Wonderful stories and entertainment for the very young, 0-3 years old, and a chance to meet new friends each Thursday from 11 to 11:30 in the morning. Mineral County Public Library hours are Monday through Thursday 10:30 am to 5 pm, and Saturday’s from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm

Senior meals

—Superior Senior Center serves free dinners to residents who are 90 years old and older. Dinner is every Wednesday starting at 4:30 p.m.

—St. Regis Senior Center serves lunch every Thursday at noon and on the fourth Monday of every month at 6 p.m. June 7 is Pork Loin; June 14 is Swiss Steak; June 21 is Corn Beef Hash; June 25 is Teriyaki Beef; June 28 is Chicken Fettuccini.

—The Alberton Senior Center serves lunches on Tues. and Thurs. at noon.

Farmers Market

The Alberton Farmers Market is held every Thursday from 5 to 8 pm at the Community Center parking lot.
