Donna M. Winson

Donna M. Winson, 80 of Superior, Montana, formerly of Maddock, ND passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018.  

A grave side service was held in Superior, MT on June 8, 2018.  A celebration of Donna’s life will be held in Devils Lake on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm at her daughter Desiree’s home, 407 11th St NE, everyone is welcome.

Donna was born in Rugby, ND, the daughter of Pete and Elizabeth Mattern.  She was raised and educated in Rugby.  After graduation, Donna attended Wahpeton State School for her nursing degree.  She worked at the Maddock Hospital and then at the Mineral County Hospital in Superior, MT until her retirement.

Donna married Walter Winson on October 25, 1958 in Rugby, ND.  They made their home in Maddock where they had four children, Denise, Desiree, Kevin and Keith.

Donna loved spending time with her family, doing crossword puzzles and traveling with Maxine and Roger Kesting.

Donna is survived by her children Denise Lommen, Superior, MT, Desiree (Leroy) Wentz and Kevin Winson, both of Devils Lake, ND and Keith (Laura) Winson of Maddock, ND; grandchildren Chad (Amy) and Camyl Lommen; Coney (Stacey), Kristy, Brandon (Megan) Wentz; Jessica Winson; step grandchildren Sydney and Jordan Every; great grandchildren Andrew, Emma, Gunner, Anthony, Taylor, Blaine, Jase, and Greta; step great grandchildren Rylee and Hudson; sister Dianne Burkhart, New Kensington, PA; brothers Claytus (Ilene) Mattern and Kenny Mattern, both of Rugby; sisters-in-law Deloris Compson, Irene Handt and Kathy Winson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law Irene and Oris Halvorson; sister-in-law Wanda Mattern and brother-in-law Ray Burkhart.
