Highway project proposed south of Superior

The Montana Department of Transport-ation is seeking comments on a proposal to resurface about 5.7 miles of Highway 257 southeast of Superior in Mineral County.

The project begins just southeast of the Superior interchange at reference post 0.0 and extends southeasterly for 5.7 miles, ending 0.4 miles south of Forest Service Road 344 at reference post 5.7.

Proposed work includes crack sealing, seal and cover (chip seal), fog seal, upgraded pavement markings and guardrail upgrades. In addition, the first 0.4 miles will also have the upper layer of existing pavement milled off and replaced with new pavement.

The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2021.
