Ada Adelia Thiles Mesenbrink

| May 16, 2018 4:00 AM

Mom was born on Dec 26, 1923, in Panama City, Iowa, to Edward W. and Cecil M. (Kohl) Thiles. She was the third of eight kids (Darlene, Betty, Claire, Edna, Donna, Bill and Darrell).

She and Kenneth C. Mesenbrink were married in San Francisco, California on Nov 21, 1945. They moved to DeBorgia, Montana (Mineral County) in 1947.  They had 61 years and eight kids together. (Hazel, Myrna, Dale, Ilene, Lester, Lee, Terry, and Harold.)

As a founding member of the Happy Homemakers Club, the restoration and preservation of the 1908 DeBorgia School House was a life long project for her.

She was actively involved in the events of the “West End,” her kids, and as much of their lives as she could while helping Ken run the DeBorgia Standard Station and Grocery.

She is survived by one sister Betty Montemurro and one brother-in-law Walt Kelley, plus all eight kids, 13 grandkids and 22+ great-grandkids. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, six siblings and two grandkids ... Wayne and Melanie.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Happy Homemakers Club, P.O.Box 300199, DeBorgia, MT 59830 for continuing the preservation of the historic school house.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 9, at 10 a.m. at the DeBorgia schoolhouse with a graveside service to follow. Please bring your favorite story of this wonderful woman.
