Hospital Board trustee election results tabulated

Mail-in ballots were counted on May 8 for the Hospital District Trustee Election where Patrick Metzger and John Woodland won the 3-year term seats. Sue Hazlett was re-elected into the unexpired 3-year term and Anita Parkin won the unexpired 1-year term.

Woodland, who is the current board chair, won by just 10 votes against Evelyn Schultz with 500 votes versus her 490 votes. Both Metzger and Parkin are members of the Superior Ambulance crew and during public forums, quality of patient care was a big topic of concern presented by crew members. One of the first tasks the newly formed board will undertake will be to find a replacement for hospital CEO Ron Gleason, who turned in his resignation earlier this month.
