Terry Lee Lommen

| May 22, 2018 1:16 PM

Terry Lee Lommen, 62, was born on February 4, 1956, and passed away in his home on Saturday morning, May 12, 2018, in Alberton, Montana.

Terry, or “Butch” as his North Dakota family called him, was born in Maddock, North Dakota. He traveled west with his former wife and young son to the Missoula area in the fall of 1979 and settled in the Alberton area up Petty Creek shortly after. Terry spent his life in the woods. He was a true mountain man- packing horses, trapping, hunting big game, fishing, and snowmobiling. These were his true joys in life. He made a living building many of the log homes in Alberton and the surrounding areas. Terry was always the first to offer a helping hand, to take someone fishing, or to head to hunting camp, and he was definitely the last to offer help if you got your snowmobile stuck.

Terry is preceded in death by his grandparents Harold and Emma Lommen, Lloyd and Margaret Griffin, Aunt Evelyn Lommen Maxin, Uncle David Lommen, Aunt Alice Griffin Hendrickson, and Nephew Jonathon Lommen.

He is survived by his parents, Theodore and Marjorie Lommen, brother Timothy Lommen (Cindy), sister Susan Piatz (Joel), significant other Mary Childs, former wife Denise Lommen and their son Chad Lommen (Amy), Mary’s sons Chris Childs (Teri) and Ronald Scott Tranbarger (Susie), grandchildren Andrew, Emma, and Gunnar Lommen, Mary’s grandson Ronald Sebastian Tranbarger, 2 nephews, 1 niece, 1 grandnephew, 2 grandnieces, and a community of friends that loved him dearly.
