This past Saturday members of the Plains VFW converged to the local cemetery to place flags at the graves of those who served and are now resting.

Local veteran Ed Foste also of Joint Operations of Mariposa, made his way to the cemetery ahead of the weekend to install small flag holders at the graves of each veteran.

Making ready for the morning walk, a group of around 10 VFW members took several bundles of flags around the cemetery placing them in front of each veterans grave.

As of the morning, it was estimated there were going to be over 400 flags acknowledging those in their final resting place.

From local veterans, to families of veterans, the group ensured no one was missed at their final resting place. With the Plains cemetery now representing a sea of flags, this memorial day the VFW members aim to acknowledge every local vet.
