Do people really know?

Do the people of Plains really understand the so called final draft of the nuisance and junk vehicle ordinance?

By passing the legalese, this is my own simplified version.

1: By reason of lack of maintenance and or being vacant could violate this ordinance. Some of the original homes and building in our little town you be in violation.

2: Any condition which constitutes an attractive nuisance whether within or without a structure or on the premises.

3: By keeping or storing on you PRIVATE PROPERTY for an “unreasonable amount of time” including wrecked, dismantled or inoperative vehicles, maybe a project you’re working on or maybe a dream.

4: An extra washer and dare that might be visible to your neighbor from the street even on your private property , could be in violation of this ordinance.

Most people coming to me and I know know why that is, don’t even know of the 72 hour removal clause.

I am personally afraid that our peaceful likable semi-rural town could change and not for the better.

I think our mayor and council people mean well but I personally se his as a dangerous overreach-must be a more peaceful way to do this.
