Diaper drive

Parents as Teachers is holding a diaper drive from Oct. 29 to Nov. 9 to collect a goal of 300 packages of diapers for distribution to families in need in Mineral County. Parents as Teachers provides educational materials to parents about child development; screens children for potential delays; and offers general parenting support. Diapers will be distributed on the evening of Nov. 14 in St. Regis along with an educational event. Parents as Teachers host weekly play group

Starting Nov. 13, Parents as Teachers will host a free weekly play group for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Held from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the St. Regis Preschool Room. Enjoy lunch, story time, and fun with your child. Call 406-822-3564 or visit mineralcountyPAT.org.

Choir/chime practice for Christmas program

The annual community-wide Christmas Program will be held on Monday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. at the LDS Church in Superior this year. Choir and chime practices have started and the public is encouraged to participate. They can use singers and people who play instruments. Choir practice is Sundays at the Methodist Church in Superior at 5 p.m. and the Chime Choir practice is on Sat. at 10:30 a.m. Contact Nancy Wilson at 406-822-4548 for more information.

Christmas is coming

The annual Christmas bazaar will be held on Dec. 8 in St. Regis and they are now taking reservations for table spaces. Call Eileen at 406-242-0317.

Holiday food drive

Mineral Community Hospital’s Holiday Food Drive is in full swing through Dec. 27 for donations to local food pantries. There are seven other drop-off locations for non-perishable food: Castle’s Market, TrailWest Bank, Superior Senior Center, Stang’s Food Center, Jack Lincoln Memorial Clinic, St. Regis Senior Center and Alberton Feed & Supply.

All donations will be gathered and weighed by the hospital and then distributed to the Superior School Food Pantry, Mineral County Food Bank and the Alberton Food Pantry. For more information, contact Monte Turner at 406-822-5122 or go online to www.MineralCommunityHospital.org.

Senior centers

Superior Senior Center serves free dinners to residents who are 90 years old and older. Dinner is every Wednesday starting at 4:30 p.m.

St. Regis Senior Center serves meals every Thursday at noon and on the last Monday of the month at 6 p.m. The menu is Nov. 8, honey glazed ham; Nov. 15, sloppy joes; Nov. 25, Hispanic meal; and Nov. 29, chili burgers.

The Alberton Senior Center serves lunches each Tuesday and Thursday at noon.

Friends of Library Christmas Bazaar

The Friends of the Library Christmas Bazaar will be held Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Superior School elementary gym. They are asking for crafters, donations for baskets, and Christmas Cookies for their “cookies by the pound” sale. Contact the Mineral County Library at 406-822-3563.
