CNSC Fall Extravaganza raises $18,000

A live band, silent auction and scrumptious meal topped off with a live auction and some raffles, this year’s Cancer Network of Sanders County (CNSC) Fall Extravaganza was a big hit.

CNSC pulled out all the stops for their annual fundraising event that took place last Thursday night at the Plains VFW Hall.

“Lots of people turned out. We aren’t sure on numbers yet, but it looks to be around 80 people,” said event organizer and former CNSC President Kathy Miller.

“We are really happy with tonight’s turnout,” said current President John Clark.

With a 50-50 raffle held, it was confirmed on the night that they had raised more than $1,000 before the auctions kicked off.

There were also approximately 22 auction items up for grabs, including a quilt, baskets and a Griz ticket package.

There were also a few hunting baskets, an airplane ride, Pampered Chef basket, and firepit just to name a few of the big-ticket items up for grabs during the live auction.

There were several large donors. The Alaska sled was purchased by a generous donor for $900. The airplane ride went for $375 on the night while one of the donated pies went for $110.

A Harley-Davidson family memories book and handmade quilt that came with an autograph from the family member of one of the founding members of Harley-Davidson, who had attended the event, went for $475.

“We also had an anonymous donor who gifted us with $1,000 that we are now able to give some gift cards to people that we help within our network, just in time for the holiday season,” said Miller.

A total of $18,000 was raised on the night and proceeds will be split and given to those within the network to help with medical bills, transportation costs and what ever they need to help make their lives easier while seeking treatment.
