Forum sheds light on county candidates
After hearing all speak at the Candidate Forum held at the REX in Thompson Falls Oct. 6, it is clear that the following is clear:
Paul Fielder is a superior choice to the current status quo county commissioner. Paul will bring fresh approach and outlook: pro-economic growth, pro-government accountability. Paul has a long history of working with government agencies, federal and state, which contributes to being an effective county commissioner.
Sheriff Rummel is doing a fine job; experienced, well trained and capable to be active in the field alongside deputies as well as behind a desk.
Mark French will be a good Justice of the Peace and seek honest judgments under the law.
Kim Christopher is experienced and measured. Her opponent came off as immature and inarticulate, Morigeau claimed that being passionate as a judge is a plus. Really? Passionate = activist.
Chris Gross is unimpressive in speech and demeanor and unable to articulate how she could “do better.” Sanders County will be best served by Bob Brown continuing as our representative for HD 13. He has and will continue to serve Sanders County and Montana well.
Naomi Leisz is unopposed for county attorney only because her opponent withdrew. She has the experience and temperament to do the job well.
