The Mineral County Library will host their annual Pumpkin Decorating and Costume Contest on Oct. 27 from noon to 2 p.m. There is also a fall fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a bake and book sale, as well as hot dogs. The Chamber of Commerce will be there at noon, and Parents as Teachers will do a slime presentation. All events will be held on the library lawn located at 301 2nd Ave. E. in Superior. Haunted House Oct. 27

The PEAK Foundation and the Alberton Student Council will host a Halloween Carnival and Haunted House on Oct. 27. Enjoy food, games, a costume contest, crafts and a cake walk from 4 to 8 p.m. in the cafeteria. From 6 to 10 p.m. is the haunted house in the school gym.

St. Regis Scarecrow Contest

The annual St. Regis Scarecrow Contest will be held Oct. 27. Participants could put their best scarecrow on display at the frontage road off Highway 135 in St. Regis starting Oct. 20. Judging will take place at 5 p.m. on Oct. 27. Sponsored by the St. Regis Community Council. Call Glenn for details at 406-649-2692.

Harvest Dinner in Alberton

Enjoy Stella’s 19th Annual Harvest Dinner on Oct. 28 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at St. Albert’s Parrish Center in Alberton. Donations are accepted. Proceeds benefit the St. Alberton Great Catholic Church.

Advent Service starts choir/chime practice

The LDS Church in Superior will once again hold their annual Advent Service on Monday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. Choir and chime practices have started and the public is encouraged to participate. They can use singers and people who play instruments. Choir practice is Sundays at the Methodist Church in Superior at 5 p.m. and the chime choir practice is on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Contact Nancy Wilson at 406-822-4548 for more information.

Christmas is coming

The annual Christmas Bazaar will be held on Dec. 8 in Superior and they are now taking reservations for table spaces. Call Eileen at 406-242-0317 for reservations.

Jazz act on Oct. 26

Mineral County Performing Arts Council presents Sundae & Mr. Goessl, voted Seattle’s Best Jazz Act 2017 and Best Vocalist 2016. Singer and melodica player Kate Voss, with guitarist Jason Goessl, play vintage jazz tunes. The performance will be held Friday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. at the LDS Church in Superior.

Mineral Community Hospital Community Food Drive

Mineral Community Hospital is very excited to announce that we are spearheading the Holiday Food Drive once again for Mineral County. Through Dec. 27, there are seven other drop-off locations who have partnered with Mineral Community Hospital to receive donated non-perishable food: Castle’s Market, TrailWest Bank, Superior Senior Center, Stang’s Food Center, Jack Lincoln Memorial Clinic, St. Regis Senior Center and Alberton Feed & Supply. All donations will be gathered and weighed by the hospital and then distributed to the Superior School Food Pantry, Mineral County Food Bank and the Alberton Food Pantry. Senior Centers

Superior Senior Center serves free dinners to residents who are 90 years old and older. Dinner is every Wednesday starting at 4:30 p.m.

St. Regis Senior Center menu: Oct. 25, Burger with Gravy and Potatoes.

The Alberton Senior Center serves lunches each Tuesday and Thursday at noon.
