Delbert Herschbach

Delbert Robert Herschbach, 79, passed away at his home in Royal Oaks, Calif., on Aug. 22, 2018.

He was born on April 1, 1939, in San Jose, Calif., to Robert Dudley Herschbach, and Dorothy Edith Beer. Delbert had five siblings: Dudley, Dorothy Dell, Dennis, Dale and Darnell.

On Aug. 31, 1963, Delbert married Rosmarie Ingeborg Herschmann. Together they raised four daughters: Lorraine, Rosmarie, Della, and Erika, and had nine grandchildren.

Delbert was known for his very strong work ethic, his humor was unique and he made light of even the most challenging circumstances. Delbert enjoyed making jam, fly-fishing, hiking, raising Red Angus cattle, and growing cut flowers. Delbert could properly identify just about every type of plant that he came across.

Delbert served honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves. He graduated from Cal Poly where he earned a degree in Soil Science.

All friends and family are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Life between 1 and 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Corralitos Community Center, 33 Browns Valley Road, in Corralitos, Calif.

Graveside services and burial will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. in Plains, Mont.

Donations can be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society in loving memory of Delbert. He will be dearly missed by many.
