Horsemen prep for Arlee on Friday

Over the weekend, the Plains Horsemen took a decisive loss to the Darby Tigers with the scoreboard finishing 54-6.
The loss came after the Horsemen defeated Seeley-Swan 36-6 on Friday, Oct. 31.
According to Plains head coach Eddie Fultz, the Horsemen suffered a couple of injuries during the Darby game, and he does not know the extent of the injuries.
Fultz said that his team is not sitting where he would like to see them and after the loss to Darby, if they don’t pick up their play on the field they could have little hope of coming out on top the remainder of the season.
“I’m still going through the videos from the weekend, but it wasn’t a good game,” Fultz said. “We didn’t play well at all ... Hopefully, I can find where we went wrong and we can fix it before it’s too late ... We really need to push forward.”
He further added that although teams in the league are generally different with their strengths, the loss they took was one that really hurt.
Quarterback Treydon Brouillette was 7-for-19 passing for 185 yards and a touchdown.
Nose tackle Rusty Stuart had a busy evening with 15 tackles and a shared quarterback sack. Tucker Foster added seven tackles and a shared sack. Esvin Reyes also had seven tackles.
Fultz said there is a lot of work to do over the coming week with a few key games coming up against some tough teams. The Horsemen host a tough Arlee team this Friday at 7 p.m.
“Practices are going to be amped up along with intensity and efforts these coming weeks,” he said.
PLAINS PICKED up its first win of the season at Seeley-Swan, getting off to a good start en route to the victory. The aggressive Horsemen defense forced four turnovers, recovering three fumbles and getting an interception.
Orion Pry-Hyde had a big game for the Horsemen, carrying 21 times for 219 yards and scoring three touchdowns. He caught one pass for 34 yards.
Brouillette had 14 carries for 113 yards and two touchowns. He was 5-for-9 passing for 80 yards.
Malachi Paulsen rushed 14 times for 76 yards. Jacob Peterson had two catches for 15 yards, and Matt McCracken had one reception for 27 yards.
On defense, Peterson led the way with eight tackles.
