Montana Aussie Adventures with Erin-Jay

Wow, the weather is certainly getting that fall feeling about it and with that I know there are plenty of hunters ready to hit the Montana “outback” to get the tag of the season.

Though I don’t have a tag myself, I can’t help but feel the excitement in the air about hunting season. Believe it or not, it’s an excitement that truly seems to be an infectious excitement that you can feel in the air.

I’m not sure why, but when I hear everyone talk about getting ready to go on a hunt, I immediately go back to thinking of friends back home that get set to go fishing for barramundi or the boys getting everyone set to go pig hunting.

It’s not necessarily strange in any sense of the word, rather that unexpected link I once again find between Montanans and Queenslanders.

Talking about Queenslanders, coming up super quickly is the Australasian Team Roping Associations (ATRA) National Finals in Capella Central Queensland, and it of course coincides with the NRL Grand Finals.

A major sporting weekend that I always look forward to, but find it hard to keep up with the time differences. Nonetheless, I enjoy seeing the photos and videos from friends back home as they compete for a title after a long season of competition.

The ATRA and those that play integral parts within the association helped give me a platform when I first started my degree.

They (all those in the association) gave me an opportunity to truly learn with an on-the-job experience that helped me figure out my own personal style of writing and interviewing.

I mention them not only because of the finals coming up, but to remind you my readers that no matter what you do, no matter what you’re good at, there has been someone that has helped you get there.

For me there have been so many that have contributed to where I am at and where I am going. So especially for those kids out there, whenever you get the chance to pay it forward I totally encourage it.

It’s even the small things that can help, the advice on how to help someone better their technique, or even giving them a platform to achieve their goals and dreams.

I have total admiration for those who have helped me get where I am today, and even when it comes down to anything in life, it truly helps to pay it forward — it never matters what or where it is, just having the ability to show kindness the way someone was able to show it to you allows you to gain fans you never expected.
