Mountain Cats, Tigers open season at Frenchtown Invite

Both the Clark Fork Mountain Cats and the St. Regis Tigers track teams placed in multiple track and field events on Saturday, April 6 at the Frenchtown Invitational, held at the Big Sky High School facility in Missoula.

In the girls’ 100-meter dash, Hunter McGillivray placed 13th with a time of 14.09. Sophia Krutilla placed 22nd with 14.39. In the boys’ 100, St. Regis Tiger Ian Farris placed eighth with a time of 11.80.

In the girls’ 200, McGillivray placed 12th with 29.57, and Kylie Plakke took 16th with 30.02.

In the boys’ 800-meter run, Jesse Shaske placed fifth with 2:09:62 and Sorren Reese took third for the girls with 2:36.66. Reese placed second with 1:07.12 in the 400-meter dash.

The Mountain Cats placed 12th with a time of 48.32 in the boys’ 4x100 relay. Running the legs of the relay were Jake Calloway, Shaske, Carson Callison and Trey Green.

Cassie Green, Sophie Krutilla, Emmah Baughman and McGillivray placed ninth in the girls’ 4x100 relay with a time of 56.16.

Mountain Cat Green placed fifth in the the boys’ shot put event with mark 44 feet, 7 inches.

St. Regis Tiger Grace King placed eighth in the girls’ shot put with a mark 30’5.5”.

Adam Ball of St. Regis placed 19th with mark 120’02 in the boys’ javelin.

Both the Clark Fork Mountain Cats boys’ and girls’ teams placed 14th in the large field, and the St. Regis Tiger boys’ team placed 19th.

St. Regis track teams were scheduled to compete in the Florence/Darby Invitational on Tuesday, April 9 in Corvallis.

Clark Fork and St. Regis tracksters enter the Dave Tripp Memorial on Friday in Polson, hosted by Hot Springs.

Following will be the Thompson Falls Invitational on Tuesday, April 16.
