A small grassfire started after high winds caused a downed powerline on Remount Road in the Ninemile area Friday, August 2.

Live powerlines delayed Frenchtown Rural Fire District from containing the fire, but they were able to extinguish the fire after Northwestern Energy deactivated the down lines, according to Frenchtown Rural Fire District spokesman Mel Holtz.

The Huson area lost power that evening in an unrelated event when Missoula Electric Cooperative lost power.
