New store opening promises locals more convenience

Last Wednesday a new business opened up on Main Street in Plains. It is called 406 Outlet and the owner, Jessica Holland, says that her store is bringing something new to the town.

Previously her store was exclusively online, though after some growth she decided to make a physical location. She also figured that this would do much to help the locals of Plains. Her store sells overstock items bought at a discount from several major retailers.

Jessica says she sells “everything people were driving to Missoula for.” Now locals can get the same products in their own town, while also supporting a local small business. She carries surplus clothing, dog food, cleaning supplies and so much more. Her stock also changes all the time so Holland suggests that customers return often to see what she has because even if she doesn’t have something at the moment a customer is looking for it, that doesn’t mean she wont have it in the future.

The building 406 Outlet is located in what used to be the old Town Pump. According to Jessica that building was originally owned by her great grandparents. They owned the land and sold it to the Town Pump, and now she is leasing it back from Town Pump. “It seems as though the place has come full circle,” as she puts it.
