Hot Springs' Knudsen named QB of Western Division All-Conference team
Brandon Knudsen, Hot Springs Savage Heat standout quarterback and linebacker heads the list of post-season honorees from the Western Division 6-man All-Conference team.
The 5-foot-10-inch senior was also chosen as a first-team All-State player after leading Hot
Springs to the state Class C 6-man playoffs.
Knudson led the Heat in passing and running categories as well as being the leading tackler on defense.
Joining Knudson on the All-State team is talented sophomore wide receiver/defensive back Kyle Lawson, who emerged as Knudsen’s favorite touchdown target.
Other local 6-man standouts who made the All-state team include Noxon Red Devil senior Ryan Weltz, a 6-foot-5-inch, 240-pound tight end/defensive end who often played numerous position during a game, and teammate Josh Baldwin a junior running back/linebacker.
The Red Devils qualified for the state playoffs.
All the All-state selections were also first-team All-conference choices in voting by Western division coaches.
Other area All-conference choices were: Gardiner’s Elijah Byrd, a senior; Cade McParland, Sheridan; sophomore Alex Novark, White Sulphur Springs; Issac Collins, senior White Sulphur; junior Cylar Taylor, White Sulphur; senior Michael Antonich, Noxon; sophomore Jack McAllister, Hot Springs; and White Sulphur sophomore Andrew Davis.
