Plains Mayor Dan Rowan swore in newly-appointed town council member Mike Brinson during the February 4 regular meeting.

Brinson replaces Sandy Chenoweth, who held the Ward 2 seat until her resignation effective Dec. 31, 2018. Brinson is to complete Chenoweth’s term.

During the meeting, the town council took public comment toward a Community Block Development Grant (CBDG) to place a sheet steel barrier to keep the sewer lagoons from washing away into the Clark Fork River.

State-mandated updates to the floodplain ordinance were discussed.

A definition of “shielding” was recommended to be added to the town’s decay ordinance, and passed its first reading.

Willis Street was announced as the paving project for 2019.

Dates were discussed but not finalized for May Spring Cleanup Days.

Remodeling of the judge’s office proceeds apace, with the sheetrock nearly completed.

New sewer lift station pumps will arrive in the next few weeks, as will two new police vehicles.

The revenue check that had been delayed at the Sanders County Courthouse has arrived.
