Thompson Falls senior Grant Lundberg happened to have one the best overall games of his high school career when the Bluehawks faced Eureka in a District 7B game last Saturday in Thompson Falls.

Lundberg, who has been a hot-and-cold shooter thus far this season, poured in 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for a nice double-double, leading T-Falls to a 59-53 overtime victory. Lundberg also keyed the Bluehawks defense with six steals, and he blocked two shots.

Two days earlier, T-Falls could not keep pace with Loyola Sacred Heart, dropping a 71-37 non-conference decision in Thompson Falls.

The Bluehawks started slowly, trailing 38-21 at halftime. T-Falls managed just 16 points in the second half. The Bluehawks suffered 22 turnovers in the loss, and shot just 3-for-14 from behind the 3-point arc.

Lundberg led T-Falls with nine points and five rebounds. Riley Riffle added eight points. Nate Wilhite had five rebounds, four steals and three assists. Ryan Schraeder was the Bluehawks’ dish-master, handing out seven assists.

THE BLUEHAWKS let a 14-point lead over Eureka in the fourth quarter slip away. The Lions exploded for 24 points in the final eight minutes of regulation, and the game went into overtime. That’s where T-Falls outpointed the Lions, 14-8.

Nathan Schraeder supported Lundberg’s 25 points with 10 of his own. Ryan Schraeder had an excellent game for the Bluehawks, grabbing eight rebounds and collecting five steals before fouling out. Cody Burk had eight rebounds off the T-Falls bench.

T-Falls was 16-for-31 from the foul line, and sank just one ofd 14 3-point attempts.

The Blue Hawks play a District 7B game Thursday at Bigfork, and host Powell County (Deer Lodge) on Saturday. T-Falls travels to Noxon next Tuesday, Jan. 15.
