TROUT CREEK — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to resurface about 16.8 miles of Montana Highway 200 (MT-200) southeast of Trout Creek in Sanders County.

The project begins near the intersection of Cedar Street and MT-200 in Trout Creek at reference post 29.5 and extends southeasterly for 16.8 miles, ending 3.9 miles west of Thompson Falls at reference post 46.3.

Proposed work includes sealing the existing cracks in the pavement and finishing with a seal and cover (chip seal). In addition, upgraded pavement marking and guardrail will be included.

The purpose of the project is to enhance the safety of the traveling public and take a cost-effective action to prolong and preserve the existing pavement. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.

The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2020, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding.
