Clark Fork will join teams from Thompson Falls/Noxon, Plains/Hot Springs, Florence, Arlee, Mission/Charlo and Eureka for the Western B-C Divisional Tournament on Saturday at Thompson Falls High School.

The top four in each weight class qualify for the state tournament. The divisional tourney starts at 10 a.m.

Clark Fork Mountain Cats

It was a double loss for the Clark Fork Mountain Cats when they faced Seeley-Swan on Jan. 25 for their last home game in Alberton. The Lady Blackhawks charged ahead of the Cats in the second quarter, leaving them ten points in the lead at the half, 24-14. The deficient grew in the third quarter where the Cats found themselves behind by 16 points. In the end, the Blackhawks won, 55-32.

Senior, Madison Mask put up the most team points with 12 followed by Sorren Reese who scored 8. Zoey Kelsey had 6, both Sophia Krutilla and Margarget Parkin had 2 each. Both Taylor Haskins and Emma Baughman had 1 each.

The Clark Fork Mountain Cat boys didn’t fare much better in their game against the Black Hawks as one of their top scorers, Bryan Mask, has been out with an injury. Seeley-Swan jumped into the lead early in the game and were up by ten points with a half-time score of 17-7. In the second half of the game, they managed to put up another 38 points to the Cats 20. Leaving the final score 55-27.

During play, Michael Spence put up 9 points and Danner Haskins had 5. Both Wasin Wongwiat and Aaron Waddle had 4 points.

It was a mixed bag when the Mountain Cats squared off against Lincoln on the road on Jan. 26. The Lady Cats came out strong in the first half and managed a seven point lead over the Lynx. They continued their march over Lincoln with a final score, 47-31. During the game, Madison Mask put up 20 points, while Cassie Green had 11. Both Sophia Krutilla and Sorren Reese had 6 each; Zoey Kelsey and Margaret Parkin had 2 each.

During the boy’s games, the Lynx had a seven point lead by the half. That stretched into nine points by the bottom on the third quarter. In the fourth quarter they managed to put up another four point lead over the Cats for a final score of 55-42. Danner Haskins was Cat high scorer with 17 points on the board, followed by Carson Callison with 11. Michael Spence had 6, Hewston Coon 4 and both Korey Radford and Aaron Waddle had 2 each.

Next, the Cats will face the Pirates in Victor on Jan. 31 followed by a Feb. 2 game in Philipsburg and a game against Valley Christian in Superior on Feb. 5.

St. Regis

The St. Regis Tigers faced Noxon at home on Jan. 25 with a check mark in both the win and loss box. The Lady Tigers were up by seven point by the half and kept up the pace during the second half of the game with a 40-30 win over the Red Devils. Madison Kelly was Tiger high scorer with 14 points. Kylee Thompson had 8, Emma Hill 7, both Makaela Kelly and Sunny Shoupe had 3 points each and Baylee Pruitt with 5.

The roles were reversed during the boy’s game against the Red Devils with Noxon leading by seven at the half. In the third quarter, the Tiger’s managed to keep the Devils at bay and outscored them in the third quarter by 3 points. But it wasn’t enough for the win with a final score in Noxon’s favor, 40-33. Tanner Day had 11 points during play, Caleb Ball with 7, and Andrew Sanford with 5. Both Nicholas Day and Adam Ball had 4 points and Ian Farris had 2.

Both teams were shut out by Arlee on the road on Jan. 26. The Scarlets had a big lead by the half with the score 36-13. They didn’t let up with a final tally of 70-33 against the Lady Tigers. Emma Hill had 8 points during the game and both Madison Kelly and Baylee Pruitt had 5 each. Karmen Alexander and Ashely Wilson had 4 each. Sunney Shoupe, Makaela Kelly and Kiya Taylor had 2 each and Taylor Hurd with 1.

The Warriors left the Tigers in the dust during their away game in Arlee. They got the jump on the Tigers in the first quarter putting 31 points on the board to 1. St. Regis held their ground during the second quarter with a half-time score of 50-19. In the second half, the Warriors put up an additional 17 points over the Tigers for a final win of 91-43. During the hard-fought game, Caleb Ball put up 12 points. Tanner Day 10, both Nicholas Day and Ian Farris with 6 points each. Andrew Sanford 5 and Adam Ball 4.

On Feb. 1, the Tigers will face Two Eagle River at home and on Feb. 2 they travel to Plains.
