Ricky Beason
Ricky James Beason passed away on May 25, 2019, while holding Megan’s hand. He left this earth a broken man and is now whole. Rick is healthy, surfing, riding snowmobiles and horses in the playground in the sky.
He was born to Ray Beason and Jeanette Granshaw on Nov. 12, 1952, in Los Angeles, Calif. Not long after his birth he gained the mother he was meant to have, Dottie. He was soon joined by his brother, Tim, and sister, Debbie, which completed his family.
Rick grew up a crazy Californian boy, with his brother and sister by his side. We all heard many stories of his wild childhood! He enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving from 1969-1971. When Rick returned, he married Francesca Morales, who gave birth to his daughter, Nicole Rae Beason. Ricky was a single parent to Nici for several years before marrying Debbie Dabney. When making this commitment to Debbie, he gained a step-daughter, Sherri, and they raised Sherri and Nici together.
While working for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad he was badly injured in a robbery at the rail yard. After this healing from this traumatic experience, he made the decision to move his family to Ronan, Mont. With this transition to a new state, Rick and Debbie divorced. In 1991, Rick met Megan Blood. This was a one-of-a-kind relationship, soulmates. Megan was raising her three young sons, JJ, Bobby and Danny as a single mother. Rick walked into this family with pride, discipline and most of all lots of love. Rick provided the boys with much needed tough love. He raised these boys as his own, now as adults they have the utmost love and respect for the man they considered their father.
Once his children began to grow their own families, Rick took on the Papa role with pride and shifted from tough love to the biggest softie! Rick would do anything for his grandchildren. Rick and Megan married on Friday, Sept. 13, 2002. Eleven years to the day of their first date in 1991, it was never an unlucky day for the two of them.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Ray Beason. He is survived by his adoring wife Megan; sons JJ (Tiffany), Bobby (Brianna), Danny (Holly) and daughter Nici. Also his pride and joy, his grandbabies, Mykenzi, Levi, Christian, Madalynn, Kale, Gracie, Carter Rick and Grayson. He is also survived by his mother, Dottie (Chet); brother, Tim (Patricia); sister, Debbie; and several nieces and nephews. Rick’s great nephew Dakota recently brought his new baby over to meet his great-great uncle for the first time, Rick was already making plans for what trouble they could get in to together.
My heart goes with you, my Lovebug, we’ll be together again soon.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 6 at 2 p.m. at the VFW in Plains.
