Plains/Hot Springs softball fundraiser is this Saturday

| March 7, 2019 1:39 PM

The Plains/Hot Springs softball team is raising funds to support the high school program with their annual benefit event.

A taco dinner will be held Saturday, March 9 at the VFW in Plains, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Cost is $10 per person or $20 for a family. Advance tickets are available for purchase from players on the team.

This is the Plains/Hot Springs team’s largest fundraiser as the program is self-funded. Third-year head coach Michelle Bangen said money raised goes toward purchasing uniforms and equipment, and to pay for umpires and for transportation expenses.

Bangen expects to have about 20 players out for the high school softball team this upcoming season. Only two players were lost to graduation, and Bangen expects to have four seniors and eight juniors on the veteran squad.

Plains/Hot Springs’ first game is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26 in Plains against Thompson Falls, weather and field conditions permitting. It is a single game starting at 5 p.m.
