| March 20, 2019 3:26 PM

Sandra Palaniuk, 78, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday March 3, 2019.

Sandra was a long-time resident of Paradise, Mont. She was born Jan. 29, 1941, to Ruby and Charles Porter. She attended Paradise Grade School and Plains High School. She married Ben Palaniuk in 1963, and they raised their four children together in Paradise.

As a young teen, Sandra loved riding her horse around the Paradise valley. She enjoyed camping with her family, and many summer days were spent on the cut-off camping, swimming and fishing with the Porter family. She and Ben loved to fish for trout in the Clark Fork River.

As she got older, Sandra loved to quilt and shared that passion with her daughter, Sabrina. She loved a good rummage sale. She was an excellent preserver of foods and passed on her knowledge of making jams, pickles, and canned foods to her children.

Sandra loved Christmas and made it the best holiday of the year for her family and children. She loved a good argument and was blessed with a sharp mind and a quick wit. She was much loved and will be dearly missed.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruby Porter; brother, Charles Porter Jr.; and sister, Patsy Porter Marsh.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ben Palaniuk; four children, Sabrina (Bob) Palaniuk Ludka, Martin (Patty) Palaniuk, Wade (Becky) Palaniuk, and Tony (Rene) Palaniuk; brothers, Bob Porter and Kerry Porter; sister, Cookie Porter Riech; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
