Sanders County election results

Sanders County Election Administrator Nichol Scribner has announced the results of the Nov. 5 election.

In Hot Springs, where there were two seats up for election, Crystal Graham and Edwin Gail Weatherly outpolled their two competitors - Renea Keough and Mary Whitsett.

Graham led all vote getters with 86 while Weatherly garnered 76 votes.

Whitset had 57 and Keough tallied 47.

In Thompson Falls and Plains, there were no contested races as just one candidate filed for each of the open spots, so they were elected by acclamation.

In Thompson Falls, they included Mayor Jerry Lacy, Councilmember Raoul A. Ribeiro in Ward 1, Katherine Maudrone in Ward 2 and Ruth Cheney in Ward 3.

In Plains, MIchael E. Brinson claimed the Ward 2 seat and Chad Cantrell claimed the Ward 3 seat. There was no candidate for the Ward 1 seat.

Scribner said of 358 registered voters in the county, 144 cast votes, or 40 percent.
