What has changed the most in your lifetime?

Life was simpler, easier? Well maybe not so easy. We were more self reliant, that’s how we were taught. We had outhouses, no electricity or indoor plumbing. Things slowly progressed for many years then suddenly tossed into this frenzy of technology and busyness. People lived by the golden rule.

Explain the importance of friendships?

It’s major. Friendship extends your family, family that you get to choose, and have to rely on. To be a good friend you need to know how to listen, share, and trust. It’s a two-sided deal.

“Back in the day” what did you do with your friends for fun?

Drive in movies, music was important – the radio. Drove “the point” which was the heart of Billings, and went drag racing with her father’s car, a Hudson that was an old Highway Patrol Car.

What would you say you are known for?

I have my fingers in a lot of things. Helping people. Take the ball and run with it – involved in a lot of projects and community events.

Looking back, what advice would you give to yourself at 17?

Make better choices, thing before you leap! Be wiser. Take the chance to travel more.

What kind of legacy do you wish to leave behind?

The Pool for Superior. Completing this project will hopefully leave a lasting impact for children and families for many years to come.

Do you have any regrets?

An aunt that was very dear to me passed away, and I didn’t get to express how much I loved her. Verbalize how you feel. Take the time.

What have you crossed off your bucket list?

1) I flew! Was afraid of flying for a long time

2) Went to Hawaii

3) Wrote my memoir
