The Cancer Network of Sanders County is holding its annual Fall Extravaganza Oct. 3 at the Plains VFW.

The event is its biggest of the year to raise money for CNSC.

Doors to the Plains VFW will open at 5 p.m. Thursday with dinner at 6 and a live auction at about 7. The event concludes at about 9:30 p.m.

The main purpose of this fun evening is to raise funds for the Cancer Network of Sanders County – a non-profit organization who gives financial aid to any Sanders County resident currently undergoing treatment for cancer.

In 2001, when CNSC formally started, we were able to give a one-time $50 gift. It has now grown to $900 gift annually. The ability to do this is always dependent on having a generous crowd at our events. As the amount of money increases, so does the amount each gift that can be given.

The CNSC Fall Extravaganza will have entertainment provided by The Fire Creek. There will be dinner, refreshments, entertainment, games, raffles, silent auction, and a live auction featuring Kevin Hill.

There are a wide variety of items for the silent and live auctions, including baskets, football and basketball tickets to special T-shirts to baked goods, and more.

There is bound to be something special for everyone and if you want to donate call 826-6163, 826-3447 or 826-4278, we will pick it up.

For Sanders County residents currently undergoing treatment for cancer, you can get a form at any financial institution in the county, any clinic, and a variety of other offices, fill it out, send it in to CNSC and if all the information is good, we can send you a check for your use as needed.

This is an annual gift, but you have to apply for each time you request assistance.

Tickets for the Fall Extravaganza can be purchased at Garden Gift in Plains, D&D Liquor in Thompson Falls, or at the door.

The ticket price can be claimed as a donation to CNSC since all the expenses for the evening will be underwritten by numerous sponsors. You must be 21 to attend.
