A big first half propelled Hot Springs to a 25-13 win over Shields Valley Friday.

The Savage Heat improved to 3-0 in Class C Western Division 6-man. They led 25-7 at the half.

Hot Springs had a pair of touchdown runs from Luke Waterbury while Brandon Knudsen tossed a 43-yard TD pass to Kyle Lawson.

The strong start continues a rally from 2017 when the team cancelled its season after not having enough players. The Savage Heat won the 6-man title in 2016.

They are on the road Friday, playing at 6 p.m. at Valier.
