Terri Barclay, the site host for SUP Camp, paddles out to her spot to anchor and prepare for a yoga session on Aug. 8. Barclay’s relatives have had the property at Bouchard Lake in their family for more than 100 years. It has been an ideal location for SUP Camp the past four summers. She said, “There are nine different moose that frequent the lake, the last few years during the yoga sessions it seems like we’ve always had a moose come join the class!” (Amy Quinlivan/Mineral Independent)

Mechelle Munroe, of Helena, leads a stand up paddle board yoga class on Saturday afternoon at Bouchard Lake near Superior. She is the owner of 406 Livin: SUP Yoga, a business that provides workshops, lessons, and gear around western Montana. This is the fourth year she has led “SUP CAMP” at this location. All together they had 14 participants float around the tranquil waters, which is about 10 less than last year. Munroe explained, “It’s a full gamut of experiences in terms of beginners in yoga, paddle boarding, or both. Either way everyone that comes out is just encouraged to relax and enjoy their weekend here at this beautiful place.” The event was held Aug. 8-9 with camping overnight at the lake.
