Johnny Warren Evins
On Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, the Evins family lost their hero in a tough battle against Covid-19. Johnny Warren Evins, 71, died peacefully at Banner Del Webb Medical Center in Sun City West, Arizona, after a 19-day battle until he joined our Father in Heaven.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda, and 3 children: Hope, Melanie, and Jake.
He had eight grandchildren: Marc, Andrew, Andrea, Breana, Brendan, Joella, Jackson and Sarah. He also had four great grandchildren: Johnathon, Destiny, Faith and Rosalie.
Johnny was born in Missoula, Montana, to Melvin and Tressie Evins on May 2, 1949.
He attended Plains High School before joining the military. Johnny proudly served 16 years of military service (1968-1984) between active duty service in the United States Air Force and reserve duty with the Air National Guard with his highest rank obtained as Sergeant.
He received the Air Force Longevity Service Award and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with an Oak Leaf Cluster. He served in Korea and received an Honorable discharge.
He supported many organizations including veterans groups and sponsored a child from Bolivia.
