Horsemen trample Savage Heat
The Plains’ Horsemen came out to Hot Springs, last Friday, and ran circles around the Savage Heat, winning 70-53.
Plains came out playing a bit slow, with Hot Springs holding their own until the second half with Jack McAllister getting two free throws early on.
Treydon Brouillette scored a 3-point shot, taking Plains back into the lead, followed by a layup from Kade Pardee. In the second half, Plains started taking up the slack from Hot Springs, jumping past a 20-point-lead after a score from Nathan Feliksa.
“I think our boys came out the second half with more intensity and we executed much better the second half. Because of that, we were able to get a lot more transition buckets than we were the first half. Our goal was to come out with a little more intensity at the start of the game and we fell flat,” said Plains head basketball coach Tyrel Allen. “I told them if they wanted a repeat of Thompson Falls then they could continue to play that way, or they could change what they were doing and play the way we should be playing, and they did.”
Thursday, Two Eagle River will be coming to Play in Plains, and on Friday the Trotters and Horsemen will go to play at Noxon.
“With Two Eagle you never know. I know they played really tough against Mission, a Class B school. So they are always one that you might think they are out of it and then all of a sudden they hit 10 3s.
“You never know with those guys. With Noxon I know they have got Rylan Weltz and he’s a beast inside. He’s good inside, outside and he’s a fantastic player.” said Allen.
