Thompson Falls Lady Hawks third at Western B

The Thompson Falls girls basketball team was 3-1 and placed third at the Western B Divisional tournament in Hamilton last weekend.

The Lady Hawks opened with a 50-33 win over Deer Lodge Thursday before dropping a one-point heartbreaker, 47-46, to Bigfork Friday.

The Lady Hawks met a familiar foe in the consolation round - Eureka. Thompson Falls beat the Lady Lions for the 7-B District title the week before in Libby.

Saturday morning, they beat them again, this time by a 54-43 score. Saturday afternoon, the Lady Hawks beat Anaconda, 66-49, to claim third place.

Against Anaconda, Emilee Pardee scored 19 points for Thompson Falls and Ellie Baxter scored 17. Jody Detlaff scored 12.

Against Bigfork, Megan Baxter scored 12 points while Detlaff and Ellie Baxter had 11 each.

In the win over Eureka, Detlaff scored 17 points while Ellie Baxter had 10. Megan Baxter scored nine and Faith Frields had eight points.

In the Deer Lodge game, Baxter scored 19 points while Detlaff tallied 11 and Pardee scored 10.

The Lady Hawks (17-5) return all their key players for the 2020-21 season.
