Art can inspire in many ways.

After seeing a painting that local artist Dave Williams and Plains High School student Haylee Steinebach made that is displayed at the Veterans Administration office in Helena, some of the students wanted a painting just for their school.

Williams, who has done more than 1,400 paintings, was more than happy to oblige.

Thursday, during an outdoor assembly, Williams presented the painting to school Superintendent Thom Chisholm. While the original painting featured a blue horse and was much larger, 8-by-6 feet, Williams painted a smaller version with school colors of orange and black.
