One thing for sure about this year’s Clark Fork football team is that when they get knocked down, they get back up and do some knocking down of their own.

After winning their season opener, then falling to Thompson Falls the next week, the Mountain Cats bounced back with a 74-point outburst to beat St. Ignatius. The next week they fell to Flint Creek.

This past Friday they took it out on Seeley-Swan by routing the host Blackhawks 40-0.

In raising their season mark to 3-2, the Mountain Cats jumped to an early lead and never looked back. They outscored Seeley 14-0 in the first quarter and by halftime held a 20-0 advantage.

The second half was a scoring duplicate as Clark Fork scored 14 points in the third quarter and added six more in the final 12 minutes of play to secure the win. No other details were available.

The Mountain Cats return Friday night for a homecoming game to be played in Alberton, their co-op partners. They will face Darby in that game.

In other area games, the St. Regis/Mullan, Idaho co-op Tigers hosted the Shelby Coyotes in what apparently was a last minute substitute contest in place of their schedule game against Kootenai, Idaho. No information was available about the switch, but it didn’t go as planned for the Tigers in St. Regis.

The Coyotes overwhelmed the Tigers 76-36 in the Friday night contest. No scoring or other game information was available.

The loss dropped the Tigers to 3-1 on the year, with a scheduled trip to Lakeside of Plummer, Idaho this Friday next up.

Meanwhile, White Sulphur Springs traveled to Noxon to face the Red Devils in a six-man football contest, also Friday. The visiting Hornets outscored Noxon 33-18 in that game. No other details were available.

Next up for Noxon is a road game at Valley Christian Friday evening.
