Free online classes available for caregivers

There are several upcoming online classes which can provide powerful tools for caregivers, including those who take care of their parents and grandparents raising grandchildren.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers program provides information and education for friends and relatives acting as caregivers for an adult with chronic medical conditions.
Gain tools, knowledge and support to help you take better care of yourself to enable you to continue to be an effective caregiver.
It will be held on Tuesdays, Oct. 6–Nov. 10 from 6-8 p.m.
All classes will be online via Webex and there is no cost.

Parenting a Second Time Around is a curriculum based on helping kinship caregivers build skills and offer ideas to relieve stress, and provide education/information in repairing, rebuilding, or reinventing new family relationships.
Explore topics like caregiver skills, positive guidance, internet safety, and navigating new family relationships. More details will be shared upon registration. Registration is required and space is limited.
It will be held Thursdays, Oct. 8–Dec. 3 from 6:30–7:30 p.m.

Finally, there is the Montana Kinship Navigator Program in Missoula. It offers a no-cost, monthly support group virtually. The support group will help relative and kinship caregivers lead healthier, happier lives by offering ways to cope with specific social and emotional challenges.
Participate for peer support, education, access to research-based support and connection to community resources.
It occurs on the third Wednesday from Sept. 2020 to May 2021 from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
