Santa visits Plains on a snowy morning
On a cold and snowy Saturday morning Santa arrived in his open sleigh, escorted by the Plains volunteer fire department and the South Side 4-H club. Along the way, Santa tossed out candy to the children in the crowd.
After the parade, Santa stopped by the following local businesses to greet the children and pass out locally made gifts.
Santa’s first stop was at Hello Sweetness Designs on Railroad street. While Santa was greeting those entering the store, the store owner, Briana Rivinius, offered the children the opportunity to assemble Christmas ornaments that she made in her own workshop. Sisters Cooper and Kendall Spurr were busy putting together wooden ornaments.
Santa’s next stop was at the Garden Gift & Floral, where Addie and Brooks Revier spent quality time telling Santa about this years hoped for presents. This is the second year the owner of Garden Gift & Floral Kim Revier has been in business and is the proud great aunt of Addie and Brooks. Kim said that she was excited to support the community and Santa this year.
After Garden Gift and Floral, Santa made a stop at Mountain West Clothing and the Bean Bug.
Further down Main street Santa’s next stop was at Gambles where he met up with Mrs. Claus, or as some might call her, Sharon Niemi. Mrs Claus put together candy canes for the little ones and spent time with baby Nolan Frankhauser and mother Natalie.
Santa’s final stop was at the Mangy Moose where the children colored Christmas scenes.
What better way to end Santa’s visit than by having a little puppy on his lap.
