Plains library announced 2022 programs

| December 29, 2021 12:00 AM

Beginning in January, the Plains Public Library will be opening an hour earlier and will introduce a full line-up of programming for everyone in the community from babies to adults.

Tuesday afternoons will see the return of Kids Club, now rebranded as Kids Club After School from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The program is designed for school-age children as an after-school activity. Crafts, games, science experiments and, of course, books will be presented to the kids along with snacks.

Wednesday evenings will be known as Wednesday Night at the Library. This rotating group of adult programs will include Book Club, Writers Club, Adult Education called Learn It Cafe, and Live at the Library featuring local arts and cultural events. Anyone wanting to participate as either a participant or as a presenter is encouraged to call the library.

On Thursday mornings, the library will open to the youngest patrons early. Story Time will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursdays giving young patrons free reign of the library. The program is designed for babies and preschool children and will include books, songs, and playtime. Families will be encouraged to start the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program.

Thursday afternoons are geared up for some family fun. Family Game Night will be at the library from 4:30 to 6 p.m. This is a free family-friendly night at the library for all ages. The library has board games for families to share. Staff and volunteers will also be leading organized games.
