Thompson Falls edges Eureka on last-second shot
Jody Detlaff’s last-second shot helped the Thompson Falls Lady Hawks beat Eureka, 55-53, Saturday night in Class B girls basketball.
Detlaff led the team with 18 points and nine rebounds. Megan Baxter’s pass helped set up the game-winning basket.
The Lady Hawks led 43-34 after three quarters before Eureka rallied.
There were two local Class C girls games Saturday.
Plains 51, Noxon 32
The Trotters jumped out to a 15-4 lead after one quarter and routed Noxon.
Carlie Wagoner and Celsey Von each scored a dozen points. Kimmy Curry added 11 for Plains. Noxon was led by Avery Burgess’ 12 points. Riley Richter added 10 for the Red Devils.
Charlo 51, Clark Fork 31
Charlo kept rolling with a 20-point win at Superior.
The Vikings held an 8-point halftime lead before outscoring the Lady Cats 9-0 in the third to build an insurmountable lead.
Cassie Green led Clark Fork with seven points while Lanie Crabb had six and Payton Milender scored five.
Charlo got 17 points from Kassidi Cox. Connor Fryberger added 10.
Thursday in Class C action, Charlo hammered Hot Springs, 58-15.
Hayleigh Smith led Charlo with 13 points. The Frybergers, Carlee and Connor each tallied nine points.
Lizzy Fisher's eight points led the Savage Heat. Hot Springs is without leading scorer Katelyn Christensen, who suffered a season-ending knee injury a few weeks ago.
Friday, Noxon knocked off St. Regis, 48-27. The Lady Devils led 28-16 at halftime.
Emily Brown led Noxon with 15 points and Avery Burgess scored 13. Riley Richter added eight points while Chelsea Vohs scored six.
Macy Hill scored 10 points for St. Regis and Baylee Pruitt scored eight.
